(Glass Land Acquisition) is proud to announce that, as a subconsultant to a national engineering firm, it has received a contract extension from The Florida Department of Transportation, District Four, for the South Florida East Coast Corridor (SFECC) Transit Analysis Study (TAS).
Since 2004, Glass Land Acquisition, continues to provide services including, but not limited to: right of way cost estimates, relocation plans, public meeting support, utility usage inventories, outdoor advertising sign inventories, public/private lease inventories, encroachment inventories, Transit Oriented Development documentation and analysis, Community Redevelopment Agency documentation and analysis, right of way advance acquisition prioritization strategy analysis and expert consultation pertaining to Federal and State land acquisition and relocation assistance programs. This 85-mile corridor analysis study considers transit improvements for various alternatives including usage of the railway mainline and other transit corridors within one (1) mile of the Florida East Coast (FEC) corridor from downtown Miami to Tequesta. Right of way acquisition and relocation is anticipated for constrained corridor areas, station area sites, maintenance and operation facility sites, drainage requirements, east/west connections and required sidings. Services provided are in compliance with the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Act of 1970 (Uniform Act), as amended, and FDOT procedure.

Glass Land Acquisition negotiates with property owners, the Florida Department of Transportation, the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority and CSX Railway to resolve encroachment issues along the corridor.

Glass Land Acquisition Service Specialists, Inc. (Glass Land Acquisition) is proud to announce that it, as a subconsultant to an international engineering firm, has teamed to win the Florida Department of Transportation’s Florida High Speed Rail PD&E Study which will include performing preliminary engineering and environmental analyses to obtain a Record of Decision from the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) for a high speed rail alignment from Orlando to Miami. The Team will undertake the preliminary planning, environmental and engineering work to define the High Speed Rail (HSR) alignment and station locations, produce two investment-grade ridership analyses, and complete all NEPA requirements.
The Orlando-Miami corridor is considered one of the best potential HSR applications in the United States. The Team will complete a study of this alignment that meets the FRA’s High Speed Intercity Passenger Rail (HSIPR) Program, Track 1B funding application requirements, clearing the way for the State of Florida and FDOT to receive federal funding for the eventual implementation of this 235-mile corridor. This important planning effort will be accomplished under a 24-month fast track schedule, leading to the eventual procurement of a DBOM concessionaire to build and operate the system, ultimately connecting into a planned Orlando-Tampa HSR corridor.
